Well had another adventure today...got up early, did my pretrip like usual and headed down the big road in MS. Stopped in Memphis to get loaded.Got back on big road but had to stop at Pilot to fax in a form for acct. Only took ten min. Headed back into MS. Went thru weigh station and was stopped by DOT. Yes I got nervous, I knew I wasn't overweight cuz I'm only pulling 13,000lbs. He ask me to step out of truck and see what he was looking at. He asked me if I was hauling hazmat ,I said no. He said look. On the front of my trl, the placard was turned to Poison. Nice lil prank from another driver. I didn't get a ticket just a warning. He said be very careful even if u stop for ten mins sometimes other drivers mess with your truck.
Lesson 205668, lol, check and recheck each time you stop.

Hallelujah !!! My son and I are both finally approved for hiring. We are now official!! We've waited one week for this final approval. Now we just need trainers and we'll be rolling.
Had to tell my wife to feel free to evacuate to my sister's house for the hurricane Irene. The track is projected real close to our house.marquardt72 and Jarhed1964 Thank this. -
Great news, hope it keeps weakening for your wifes sake

My truck is now over at Freightliner getting the brakes fixed!!!! Took me over an hour to get ahold of Breakdown last night, told him what I had been through, and how it was "fixed" and it still shook violently, how I had called Freightliner, how they said the discs/drums were probably warped, and he told me right away to take it in.
Thankfully I am sitting at home while they work on it.
Sean, it's "funny" how you mentioned that. The load we repowered to get us home had one placard turned to poison and I asked the driver about that.....he said it kept flipping open......so I will definitely keep an eye out for this type of situation.marquardt72 Thanks this. -
If you are a solo driver looking for a load........sorry. For some dumb reason, we just ran two that I would have gladly given up. We ran an Xpress Global load dock to dock from Tunnel Hill to St Louis that we had to wait five hours for them to get the trailer loaded, 400 miles and we get to delivery just after midnight and they will not let me drop the load until the open at 6 am. Said it was not "secure". It was a load of carpet and there then looking for an empty, I found three trailers full of carpet that were not even sealed. After sleeping for 6 hours, we ran 95 miles to pick up a loaded trailer going 350 miles to Chicago. I called my FM and asked PLEASE for a team load. He said he did not know they had put two solo loads on us and got us a load to Sacramento. After sitting for a week in Chattanooga, it is so nice to be back in our truck and moving.

Flood yepp, it was a verbal warning and wasted no time getting out of there.
Anna, the prongs on the placard are tight, so it was definitely flipped. Me and Dot checked. He was really nice about it. Glad Ruby is getting new brakes so you guys are safe, hugs from afar. -
Congrats ! And hope your family stays safe.

Glad to hear you and Anne are moving again.I was just assigned a load 900+ miles. Oh boy no complaints, u get what u ask for ,lol, I guess. Be safe!
