Why do you think the CDL-mills are so #### busy? :biggrin_25523:

It's not the extra clothes... its the lack of breathe-able air. Nothing like a few good lung-fulls of CO to get the truck driver turn-over (or would that be turnin' 'em under?) rate jacked up a bit!

With all the perks we got with the Flying J card i still found it cheaper and safer to eat at the truck stop diner . The best deal though was at Whisky Petes right on the NV , CA border if you stopped and got a minimum of 100 gallons of fuel you got a free shower and a free buffet at Whiskey Petes casino .

I cook in my truck all the time on a single burner butane stove. It works great! I wouldnt worry too much about the fire hazard, just be careful. Every inch of the interior of a truck is drenched in highly toxic fire retardant. Im not saying it wont burn of course. I also have a full size mini fridge with freezer. I had to remove one of the cabinets to get it to fit. I usually switch the A/C from recirculate to outside air when i am cooking to combat carbom monoxide. Or i just crack a window. It has been wonderful being able to cook while on the road. It saves me from having to eat that disgusting truck stop gruel. I highly recommend trying it.

When I am home I visit my local Meat Market and get some large cut stew meat for my little oven. Take the meat and season to taste, add baby carrots, diced potatoes, chopped onion and about 1/3 cup of beef broth. Put this in a quart size freezer bag and freeze. Thaw out in the morning and pop it in the oven in an aluminum pan for 1.5 hrs. Little bread with butter and time for a home cooked dinner. Yummy

Get some of the little chicken breast pieces at Wally World and some Lipton French Onion Soup Mix. Thaw the chicken and put a light amount of Olive Oil on the chicken, roll in the soup mix and put in the foil lined little Road Pro oven for 40-45 min. Small single serving of corn heated in the nuker with some dinner rolls and eat up Johnny!

Ps. Don't need no stinkin truck stop food.

I bought one of those from Cabela's...and am very impressed,it DOES work great..Although,I bought a very cheap frying pan,-not a good idea-that likes to smoke.I bought a heavy duty one,and along with my sauce pan,no issues whatsoever..:biggrin_255:
