Okay I want to obtain a class A cdl , and start a career as a trucker , but I can't afford the schooling so I am going with getting upfront paid schooling from a company by signing a contract . Right now im very close to going with drivers solutions via Pam, but all I read is really bad things about both . Is there a better route for me to go ? I am in southeast missouri.

Hi Magnumbrandor. welcome to board. It is good that your company paid for schooling.

ive been doin research on this site for a few months now and every company that hires newbies has bad things posted somewhere about them here. (everyone ive looked into anyways) Just keep reading and make your choices on what you need and hope to get out of your first company and pray it works out for you lol. I am a newbie myself but i have stressed my first company just as much or more than the next newbie and ive come to a conclusion that being happy with my first company is almost entirely gonna be based on how i approach the industry and how bad i want to make this a real career and not just a detour in life. GOOD LUCK!!!!

You have the option of going to a community college and get financial aid from the gov't. Not only is it cheaper, you get better training. Then you ain't committed to anyone.

Also check with your local career service center some times they have programs that will pay for your CDL training at local community colleges.
