Sure great Idea?
First lets make it super size.
Then ban most trucks due to there getting in the way of station wagons and screaming kids.
It will never work.
Not enough volume.

More and more communities are fighting back at Walmart trying to put super centers in their neighborhoods. What kind of an uproar do you think there would be if Walmart tried to put a super center with a truckstop in the neighborhood? There is no way that is ever going to happen.

Good point choochoo. Wal Mart isnt making many friends either civilians or coorperate. They definately might have a huge fight on their hands.

First it wont happen
They dontnough profit on their super stores, how would they make small scale at a truck stop?
Truck stops charge so much because they can. And because the volume is low. -
I was in western Ky one time and asked the Wal-Mart Manager if I could park for the evening and he told me no and that I should leave as soon as I was done shopping. So shop I did. I went to the meat section and filled a cart with all kinds expensive meats & lean hamburger, then I cruised around the store for over an hour loading up the basket with over two hundred very small items, just taking my time whilst all that expensive meat got nice and warm, next I went to the longest check out lane which had 10 or so people in it, and waited until I was next in line at the register and suddenly forgot I left my billfold in the truck, so I went out to the truck and left.
scottied67 Thanks this. -
I just want to set the records straight on this remark. I happen to work at a Wal-Mart. (Not proud just need a good job.) Anyway, I see just as many men in Wal-Mart as women. I know lots of women that make their husbands go because they don't want to. I am one of them. I send the Monkey whenever he is home.
As for Wal-Marts having their own truck stops, they already have a Wal-Mart in almost every town. Do we really need them at evvery truck stop. Enough is enough. -
The supercenter in Neosho, MO has truck parking. I don't think it would hurt TA,Flying J,PIlot one bit if wal mart got into truckstops, their all big enough to handle the competiton.

I don't know about the Wal-Marts in KY, but there is no expensive meat in TX Wally worlds. Most have about 75% buckets of tripe for the illegals to make menudo out of. I like that load it up and let them restock it idea though. Used to really like Wal-Mart when Sam was alive. 3 people in line and we open a new one. The new stores here are all pushing the do it yourself checkout. Anything to keep from paying a salary to someone.

If Wal-Mart-Stop's showers are as nasty as their bathrooms...

Wal-Mart has changed a lot in the last 2 years. Not always for the better. A Wal-Mart truckstop would be good when they first opened it up. It wouldn't take long for the home office gurus to find a way to cut corners and make themselves more big bucks.
Nowadays, it is run for the money. And I don't mean for the people who work there. The profit goes to the ones who just sit on the board part time and collect millions of $'s.
But, enough from me. I like my job and need to keep it, so I'll quit while I'm ahead.
Sam Walton would roll over in his grave if he knew what was going on now!
