I find that hard to believe that anybody could have access to your medical records without signed permission from you. Are you required to give permission for them to be able to check your medical records?
Wow, more insanity as to how employers can treat you.

Well sitting in Mississippi right now at the McClane warehouse, waiting to drop off a load. It's a real pain here, trucks lined up for about a mile on the side of the road waiting to unload.

We've been running real hard past few days since we finally got out. Doing at least 1000/day. Did my first complete night shift last night, did 650 miles in 12 hours from 10pm-10am. That was an interesting experience. I wanted to stop but pushed myself and did my whole shift. Really surprised myself.

I'll have to admit, the whole team thing is definently not for me. We've just been run real hard, as soon as we drop, we get our new loads. Right now is the first break I've had in 3 days and thats just because we were 6 hours early. My trainer is my before instructor and we do get along awesome, it's just real hard trying to live while the truck is constantly moving. We've had few chances to stop for food, showers, and so on. Not to mention the lack of sleep you run on, I'm a light sleeper so a moving truck don't work so well. :biggrin_2557:

I'll be real happy when I get my own truck. :biggrin_2559:

Agree. Hell, I think 57 is too slow. I don't mind it out East, but when you down in the south where its a 75, scares the hell out of me having people pass you going 20+mph faster.

Most your records can be checked via a background check. Some things employers CANNOT look at are past hospilizations and certain illnesses. A lot of stuff is protected under HIPPA.

Really they are just looking for anything major that sticks out.

Employers? Try the federal government. This is all part of the regs put in place after congress declared that the CDL was the end-all to gettin' truckers in line. And yes, if you want a CDL and a job, you will sign a release allowing them access to your medical records - just the same way pilots do. Its all part of getting a job in a safety-sensitive industry.

Still stuck in Mississippi. Someone messed up our load so we never got to drop it off last night. Now dropping off tonight. Got a break though for the day which wasn't too bad.

After we unload, heading straight to Louisiana to repower a load to Philly.

You feel like you're ready to strike out on your own Seebs? Is your trainer teaching you everything you need to know? Like about how the paperwork goes and logbook stuff, things like that.

I learned a lot of the stuff during my PSD phase actually. Training is just more polishing.

Every now and then I learn something new or mess up on occasion and for that its nice to have a trainer to help you correct your mistakes.

TNT phase seems to just consist of polishing your skills you learn during your PSD phase. Thats what I feel I am doing now. I do need to get a bit more real time backing experience in. But outside of some backing, I am very comfortable with where I am.
