You actually had a CHP officer tell you it was okay to run 60? Hmmm... I figured California would be the only state that would enforce the 55mph truck speed limit religiously since they are so anal about all the other retarded laws they have.......

The last time I got pulled for speeding I was running about 75 in a 65 and still getting passed so I was shocked when I got the blue light special. The trooper took his time getting out and when he finally makes it to me he says "Do you know how fast you were going?" so I said " I don't really know. The spedo's busted, but I was really moving back there so, I guessing maybe 120,130 tops" he says "Not quite try 75." I said "####, that's all? And you pulled me over for that? Let me try it again, I know I can get her on up there".

He failed to find the humor in it. 4pts $375. I had to pay the whole 375 but the judge dropped the points down to 2. When in doubt try a sense of humor. Some of them have it, most of them don't.

I was always told not to be rude or a smartarse because in most cases, the cop takes it as offensive and will be a lot less prone to letting you off with a warning but from time to time, you do get one with a shred of a sense of humor but while in that big truck, getting away with only a warning is hard to come by since traffic violations in commercial vehicles usually yield higher fines. I got a seatbelt ticket in Indiana once and if I were in a four-wheeler, it would have only been like a 25 dollar fine but since I driving an 18-wheeler, it was a 130 dollar fine before the surcharge and the fee for paying it online......

I remember a few months ago I was going about 80 in a 70 in my car and a semi drove past me. I guess he had a 100 mph limit on his truck.

When on the highway, tollway, interstate, I move along at 60-62, I do not have a governed truck so I can go alot faster if I wanted to and have on a few occasions, but I am to cheap to want to pay the fines and get the points. When I am doing my city route speed limit all the time sometimes under. Whats the point of running 10 mph plus down the road?

I drive the speed limit 99% of the time. On a rare occasion I will go 57 in a 55, but usually back it down to the speed limit after a short time as I do not want to risk getting a ticket.

I generally do 3 over to a max of 68 mph. Its been my experience that 3 over is a safe fudge factor.

I generally do "about" the speed limit. I don't like giving money away without a good return and as a result I've been told that I drive like an old man. Well then....so be it.
