I assume you got a copy of your DAC? Just like a credit report, your DAC is regulated by FCRA and anything on it can be disputed and central had 30 days to responsed to the dispute. The rehire part, you can't do anything with. Just work around it like I did. If you are going to dispute the backing accidents then I suggest you do it yourself and save the $189 that DACfix.com is going to charge you.

Yep, I got a DAC copy. I don't dispute anything on it though, I did actually have 3 accidents. I called the re-hire guy from Central back today, and he said yea I was denied for coming back, so I'm looking at local companies.

From what I've read about DAC, I can wait it out. Some large OTR carriers have "No more than 2 accidents in the last 3 years" under qualifications, so if I wait 2 more years, 1 of my accidents will be older than 3 years and irrelevant for insurance purposes. After 7 years they should all disappear just like a bankruptcy.

Thanks for the leads though, I will definitely check out Us food service or local delivery for like furniture stores and stuff.. I will even do pizza delivery if I have to lol

if you live somewhere near a major airport, your might want to try one of the small freight forwarders that handle the freight from other companies to the airline cargo warehouses. A lot of larger companies don't want to deal with TSA procedures for dropping off air freight that they go to these small companies to take the freight, screen it, then transport it to the airport. Most of those companies are really small and only go by MVR and standard criminal background check.

Might want to try Forward Air also, I was told by someone at work that they don't use DAC reports. Crete also just says safe driving record according to mvr with no major preventables. Their flatbed division keeps calling me to go back OTR after I keep telling them I want regional so I can be home on weekends. Changing from line haul being home daily going back to OTR is kind of gainst what I was trying to accomplish. Accident according to mvr is an incident where a vehicle needed to be towed, fatality, or someone was injured and had to be transported for medical attention.

an accident on mvr is one where a ticket is issued. and will delete after 3 years. an accident on dac never goes away unless disputed.

dac is permanant.

I called the guy who does re-hires for Conley today, he took my name and driver code and said he would call back in a few mins.. never heard from him. I'm thinking they're giving me the run-around cause they don't want me back.

Yup, I stay out 5-6 weeks at a crack. The last week was phenomenal.
I had a court date to go back to fight a parking ticket in front of my house, bobtail no less. So I am on the way home and then find out they changed the court date. No problem though because I have to help pack, the bank didn't approve my loan redo thingy and we are being "asked" to leave. LOL, now we are headed to Orchard Park. The wife still has a house there so it should be plenty fun moving coast to coast.

I guess I can't use the truck or a trailer so we gotta go with Penske.

Nomad, in regards to your three weeks bad pay, that is why staying out 4-6 weeks is pretty standard if you want to make any kind of money. As you can see a few weeks of crappy pay and you have to make it up somehow. Hopefully some newbies will read that post and understand why you have stay out to make money. I think some people think just because you are away from home means you are getting paid.

Nomad, as for the single drivers running under a planner, I personally have never heard of that. My planner only ran teams and they were a select few.

Truckincouple, congrats! That's awesome!!! I take it you guys are running team? My wife and I ran team for Central and loved it! Don't be let down by the Fontana terminal, its not a very good representation of Central. You will end up loving the little place though when you need a place to crash for awhile. Plus as a team you will do a lot of drop and hook out of there saving you the LA hastle! That little terminal will definitely test your backing skills though! It can get tight in there. Course the showers are like that too! Im really excited for you guys, brings back good memories! I think you guys are going to have a hell of an adventure (in a good way)! Despite all the money we made, the memories and times we had out there are far more valuable and will last forever! Our only mistake was retiring! Make sure to take as many picts and vids as possible. As a husband/wife team you are going to make a lot of money and want to retire early so picts and vids will be your stronghold long after you have retired! My wife even used to keep a journal. Course nowadays you have facebook and the truckers forum. Good luck guys, maybe start a thread on your adventures!

I don't know what an APU is but I know what a power inverter is. Please tell me they allow them in their trucks. If not I might be screwed on my downtime when on my restart and the downtime after a day of driving. I would have a laptop and an xbox 360 for movies,gaming and whatnot.

It is my understanding that you can put an inverter in a company truck now. You need to be careful though cause if you get a big one and use a microwave or something you will suck the batteries dry quick. APU is Auxiliary Power Unit - a small diesel motor that hooks to the batteries, provides A/C... it also keeps the coolant warm in the winter so the truck will start easier. They do not allow an APU on a company truck because it uses the company fuel. You could get a gas or diesel generator and chain it to the catwalk. As long as it has a seperate fuel tank they don't care.

<nodding head in agreement> Right now we are sitting and waiting... the trailer light went green quite a while ago... multiple drivers that arrived AFTER us have been released (and yes we were early, not just on time)... I just hope they don't falsify the documents this time, like they have done before so that we can get some detention!! Oh and this is making us late for our next pick up!! I just LOVE WalMart <sarcasm>!!
