Hey guys, I got pulled over last night by NYPD highway patrol and was issued 4 summonses.
I would like to know a few things about points. I read in the CSA handbook that points will only be assigned if you were inspected when you received the summons, and that if you receive 7 tickets for 7 burnt out lights that only one ticket will add to your point system as long as all seven tickets were issued at the same time.
So, when I got pulled over the DOT officer didn't do an inspection but did look over a few things on my unit.
The officer gave me a violation for periodic inspection overdue on the trailer.
1 violation for inoperable brake light (right side) on the trailer.
2 violations for bald tires on the trailer.
Being that a true roadside inspection wasn't performed, this shouldn't go on my CSA point system, correct?
And if it did, would I only receive 1 of the violations or would it be only 3 violations minus the 1 bald tire violation because the other one would already be accounted for?
CSA 2010 Point Question ?

Ever hear of a "PRE-TRIP", could have saved you 4 citations.
THBatMan8 Thanks this. -
Yeah, I have. The brake lights I could not check because of the stupid new trolley brake design on the new Freightliners.
The two tires had flat spots, I didn't know and still think this isn't a violation.
I'll eat the overdue inspection. -
