Picked up a relay load from Vegas going the exact opposite route we just ran. Point is that going to be stopping at home for dinner.

    Don't tell my wife, it's a surprise. :biggrin_25525:

Then finishing the trip, and a 3 hour dead head followed by 1700 mile preplan waiting for us to roll once we get our trailer emptied out.

    228/39 left.

Slept in my own bed last night, having breakfast in my own kitchen.

Gotta get the truck wheels rolling in two to three hours to make our delivery window. Any earlier we waiting on the side of the road, any later and we late.

Thus also why I got to stay at home, was either that or sitting by the side of the road waiting for delivery.

Wow. Now that's something you don't see very often on a truckers forum! How was it sleeping on a real mattress? Did the gas work in the kitchen?

Now bumped to a dock in Pasco, WA. Had to decline the second preplan in a row now. Keep sending us team loads and have a few more days till can do teams.

Finally got what looks like an easy run from WA to UT, but don't pick up till tomorrow so we have tonight off basically once we get this truck unloaded.

EDIT: I like it when live unload customers don't have facilities for drivers to use. Do you really want me to pee in your yard? (just kidding I wouldn't)

Walmart distribution centers are insane. Dropped a trailer and was supposed to pick up a full load. New trailer wasn't where they said it would be but we found it.

New trailer was 7 days till inspection due and failed several pretrip items most involving brakes. Sitting in the lounge waiting for trailer to get fixed. No ETA.

Well trailer got grounded. Load got cancelled. Now sitting in the Swift sub-terminal at the Walmart DC waiting for a new dispatch.

Yep been one of those days that nothing works right.

Yep sitting in a Boise Cascade drop yard cause ran out of hours to move our load.

Haven't had a shower in two days. Out of food besides peanut butter and two slim jims because had to get trailer repaired when we had planned on a Walmart shopping run. This morning had to decline a run that would have put me in my own bed tonight because we were stuck in Missoula getting our trailer repaired instead of in Grandview where Swift thought we were.

All because some driver put his Walmart trailer into something gouging the crap out of the tire and bending the rims. Drops his trailer at Walmart in Missoula and doesn't tell anyone.

Along comes my mentor and me, drop our trailer full of Walmart goodies and hook to the broken trailer. We do pre-trip on the trailer and *ding* trailer now becomes our problem. Les Schwab to get the tire replaced, Peterbuilt to get the brakes looked at.

9 hours later out of hours so stuck in Missoula. 16 hours later finally back at the Walmart DC and give the trailer back to Walmart and get our old one that I drove up from Las Vegas that was still there waiting for us.

    Arg...

Now got a 40K+ load (empty fuel tanks and not allowed to fuel until scaled out 40K) going to Portland that we can't hook till the morning.

I am sooo glad I'm getting paid by day out instead of by the miles right now.

And that's part of the reason I went flatbed instead of van!

However, I started the academy (Phoenix) a week before you and am still at home. Meeting my mentor tomorrow in Tucson. 4+ weeks since graduation, 2 weeks since orientation/flatbed tiedown class.

Well now, there's efficient use of their trained, ready resources. Make this, um, "vacation," any longer and they'll make you go back through CDL and tiedown school again!
