I'm thinking of coming out of retirement, full time. I retired from USX in June 2009.
I have an offer from this other driver here to take over her payments on her 2004 Freightliner Centry.
She owes $38,000 on it. She just paid $19,000 in April to have the motor rebuilt. It comes with a 2 year guarantee.
The question is. How are the contract drivers making out at USX? i hope their are some of you on this board to help me decide to come back to USX. I was pretty happy when I was their, for the most part.
At present, i am driving part time making $23.00 hr. I missed driving and just had to get back on the road, but its all local & I'm home every night.
How are the lease drivers making out? I need to make a profit and still pay the $1700.00 truck payment. She will lease it to me and pick up the insurance payment on it till the loan is paid.
The truck is leased to Mercer trucking now.
What do you think. Thanks in advance for your input.
Shuld I come back to USX as a Contract driver?
