Stevens Class of Sept 26, 2011

GSWx.... I have this paper I recieved from my CDL school that's from Stevens,"Things to bring with you to Orientation"
it says, " those coming on Greyhound**look for yellow cab**at Mesquite Greyhound
Those flying in call our yellow cab driver above for pick up." The name is John, number is (214)564-9483. I don't think you need to pay the fare. If so, I won't have money for it and a week of food. I will tell the cab to bill it to Stevens cause I will say that or come in the office to get your money. I will have to ask for a $50 pay out for food(that's how much they will front you if you are attending O1) that will cone out my $350.

You will have to pay for the cab, but Stevens will reimburse you the next day

 

Well it looks like i'll be going to Stevens Academy on the 19th kind of nervous, not sure what to expect yet but i'm sure things will go great.

Well...... Ain't that a piss in a bottle for out of towners.. I'm gonna see what I can get away with. I gotta make money before I can spend it!..... But Corp., are you sure they will reimburse me back the cab fare, right then and there?

Hey, Corporal, since you seem to be a non-Texas resident, I'm trying to figure out what tests I will have to take since I am a Michigan resident. So follow me through to see if my understanding is right:

When you got to Texas, you had to take their driver's license test AND their CDL written test for your learner's permit, a total of two written tests. Then when you got back "home," you had to transfer the Texas CDL to your home state and take another written test.

You had to take a total of three written tests and one road test, right?

 

No, you dont have to take the regular DL Test. You just transfer your state DL to TX and take the CDL Permit test. Once you have your permit there are 4 written tests to take for the actual CDL. General Knowledge, Air Brakes, Pre Trip, Combination Vehicle. Then you do the road test which is 2 tests. The Air Brake test (short and simple) and the driving test.
When you get back home you tranfer the CDL back to your home state.
