Don't do that. What may happen there is that another truck within earshot going the other way or something may hear you say "Okay, you got it *****" and wind up coming over on somebody, causing an accident.

I have had that happen to me. Driver would be passing, some other yard bird says "ya missed me driver" and here comes the truck thinking I called him over.

Sometimes I will blink My lights or I may do the brights Quickly its just depends, Iam not trying to blind any one , my first truck was a mack it had a toggle switch on the dash for this and to do markers lights as well.

    Hello,
Hubby has been driving for 28 years, and he has always turned his lights "OFF" then back "ON" to signal that another driver has cleared us, and we always thank other drivers who do the same, but since we pull a flatbed, and if our load isn't too tall, if somebody (4-Wheeler, Truck, whatever) flashes their bright lights at us to tell us to come over, Scott just gives them a taste of their own brights...Man, I love those load lights.....LOL

The car I drive (2006 Toyota Corolla) does not allow me to turn off my lights while the car is in drive. Therefore, the only way I can alert a trucker that it's safe to move in my lane is to flash my highs. But I don't want to blind them. I admit, most times I'm sure they know when to change lanes. But, sometimes I believe they need a little assurance that yes, I'm going to slow and let them over. But, if flashing my highs is out, I have no other option! Oh well!

    Well,
If that is the only way you can let us know that it's ok that we come back over, then go for it, sometimes we do still say thanks to the people that flash us with thier brights, it just depends on what kind of mood hubby is in, if people have been getting on his nerves just before somebody does that with thier brights, he might give them the load lights, but if he is in a layed back mood, he says thank you, it just depends, at least your one of the four-wheelers out here who doesn't just want us totally out of the way so they can have the road to thier selves...I thank you for being one of the considerate ones
