I dont know man, asking for a new truck every breakdown isnt really the way to get along with your employer.

See what's available in a different truck. If it's a bigger POS than what you have now, then I'd say, "thanks but no thanks, I'll ride this one out".

Buzzarddriver has a great idea, I wouldn't let them tell me I was on vacation. I would be looking for breakdown pay and mileage pay for all the miles you drove under their instructions. You may not have been under a load, but you were definately under dispatch. As for the truck, how is it otherwise? If you like the truck and all these issues have been dealt with I would want to keep it. On the other hand if it's beat up and has a lot of miles on it, maybe this is a signal for a newer unit.

I would have asked for a new truck. If your not turning your not earning.

My thoughts are there might not be anything wrong with the truck at all. You might be pulling the hill in the wrong gear. You'll need to downshift when your RPM's drop below 1000.

A climb in water temperature is normal when climbing a hill. Your truck is probably equipped with a 'automatic' radiator fan, that'll kick in at a certain temperature, usually around 220 degrees, and cut off again when the temp is normal.

    haha

Well dont really know what id do. Was i going to get paid waiting? Yes then okay ill wait. No? give me a loaner till mine is fixed.
Not a loaner but my new truck? do a very good Pre-Trip inspection if it passes your inspection drive it. If you dont like that its a/c dont work. look harder other stuff will most likly be wrong with it that its not road worthy (hint hint) sooner or later they will give you a good one and make you happy just to shut you up.
Well personally id ask for another truck to make the miles go. but sometimes companies dont have extra trucks laying around for you to grab whenever so best be lucky you got one thats getting repaired. would of told dispatcher as soon as i left truck shop that trucks in to get repaired and expected wait time to find out what THEY wanted me to do.

Oh yeah wheres that picture at?

    I understand that.
I was taking into consideration that this OP had already spent almost a week without a load.
And was going to put his money maker into the shop yet again. I would have asked for another truck.

You have to stay in constant communication with everyone, dispatch, shop, etc. They don't always know what's going on with drivers 1000 miles away. Plus they are dealing with 100's of broke down trucks. To sit around for days waiting for repairs is dumb.
