Any friction causes it, seats, carpet.... One of the main things is the wind blowing over your vehicle and a low humidity environment.
They say to first touch your vehicle with your palm and then you won't have the static discharge.

I can't ever remember getting shocked by a truck.

Hey now! I resemble that remark. Besides, everybody knows your signal goes further with the antenna pointed forward.:biggrin_25523:

some professional drivers have to have the straps hanging down and the antenna's forward, including chicken lights by the dozens and the brighter the more better it is for them, just so they can claim to be a professional truckdriver and not a steering wheel holder

The extra wind resistance from all those extra straps hanging and flapping in the breeze keeps their slow company trucks from going too fast!

Honest, Officer. I couldn't have been going that fast. My speed stabilizers are securely antonated to the perpendicular nature of the ground plane!

All I know is, it works.

    See above.

Thanks for not saying your fat ###. No doubt about it though, it's not rocket science. Since it has only been one truck this happened to me, I suspect it was more than just friction in the seat. I hung a 12", I think it was, off the front axle, and the problem stopped. Don't tell myth busters, they may get upset.
Geez, how come you guys feathers got ruffled ?:biggrin_2559:

We put the antennas forward and all those chicken lights so other truckers have somthin to look at. Could u amagine how boring it would be to watch nothing but
jb hunt or swift trucks all day. You got to throw some kick ##### lookin stuff out there every now and then.:biggrin_25525:

I always thought it was to keep the flies away when the windows were open and the engine was idling...
