The freightliner I had and now my volvo both run at 66, though I doubt its really 66. More like 65.5 and my gps rounds it up. Neither one has had its rpms governed, thankfully.
Any questions from prospects or lookers from real Watkins and Shepard drivers?

Does WS hire on Drivers out of New England? CT to be precise. Tried to call 800# but being a Saturday there was no answer.
-
Closest terminal would be New Jersey... you'd probably be hireable, but best to call recruiting to be sure.
BigCheese Thanks this. -
Do they get into Southern New England much with frieght? Reason I'm asking is I was reading one of the threads form a WS driver. Then stated reading more of the threads from WS drivers and unlike the usual BS and bad mouthing the company most of the drivers seem to be pretty happy.

how far from Sayreville, NJ are you? they hire drivers that live within 120+/- miles from a terminal.
We have TONS of North East Freight.

well were not swift they need us to be slightly more productive then 30mph. They dont go by mph but I beleive they route you to do 500-600 a day as a solo driver. Some loads are tighter then that but your not out here to sight see, your here to move freight.
an example: Conover, NC Terminal to Detroit, MI is 680-700 miles we have lots of loads you'll get at 8-10am in NC and deliver 6am the next morning. its simple just drive to the receiver and do your 10 there...no biggie.

Just looked at a google map and i'm 100 miles to far from the terminal. That really blows. Have you heard of them making any exceptions on that policy?
-
yes its not an exact number, you'll have to call a recruiter to find out for sure if thats too far or not...
But just to let ya know we have to leave the trucks at the terminal while on home time so thats 220 miles or so you'll have to drive your personal vehical to and from work.

Hence the reason for the 120 mile radius. Is the NJ terminal a secured lot and do you know of any drivers that have had there PMV's stolen or messed with their?
