Does may do the Serpentine in there test? I had to do it for FedEx's Test. I passed no prob although I cannot stand doin it LOL.
-
They will have you back around a cone straight back, then back around a cone into a 45. I'm not sure if all terminals do it for the orientation, but they all do it for the solo out test.
-
Thanks for the info. at Fed X G we had to back in and out of 5 cones, then drive forward streight through (serpentine) If u hit one cone you had to start over. During my test i witnessed only one guy that couldnt make it after 3 attempts, He was not allowed to drive after that.I was just curious how may does it cause I am very close to jumpin ship an headin over.

Ok got day two out of the way. Learned a lot today that i hope i can remember lol. Went to Golden Corral which was awesome ,ate alot. Mike is a nice guy to visit with. I was told about the new idle policy which to me is pretty good as far as comparing it to a week ago. All the ladies that in the office were very nice and really enjoyed the atmosphere. Well my trainer should be here friday or saturday, so i will get laundry done, read my manual get some good sleep and then be ready to roll. So hows everybodys day been .

Well its me and do i have a story for you. I will try not to bore you all but here it goes. The night before i was to go out with my trainer( Howard Stern fan 24-7), left computer on the floor had to get up to use bathroom and stepped on computer the rest is history 600.00 later. My training was the worst experience i have had in a long time and i am so thankfull its over. I truly believe that i am a better driver than my trainer examples are leaving the May yard in Layton on my first day he forgot to scale out so turned around in the middle of the highway, tail gated cars to wher you couldny see the cars bumper, pulled over out east to edit his logs and got us stuck, had me turn around on a one way in the wrong direction, while i was driving all he was do was texting. It all was a crazy 4 weeks, wow 4 weeks of this not sure why he thought i needed 4 weeks but i do have a pretty good idea. The last straw was we had a flat at a t/a in denver so we were getting it fixed and was gonna take our break there so i asked if i could do laundry ,he said sure well i was almost done drying and he called me and said , i am at the denver yard ( t/a didnt have the right brand of tire so they aied tire up to get to may yard) any way he said that he was out of hours so i would have to stay at the t/a. Well that was at 4:30 pm it was midnight when my trainer returned. I kept my composure and kept telling my self that i solo out tomarrow and this will all be over with. There was one time that we were in Layton and taking our break , he went home that after noon and came back the next day and told me that we werent gonna leave till the following day(wow i could of went home for a day).Ok well i am taking all my experience from the last 4 weeks and turning it into a positive. I am at home now gonna be leaving solo on Monday and looking foreward to being able to communicate with other May drivers, WAVING, TALKING TO THEM ON CB AND ETC and no more Howard Stern. Oh ya one day in the yard while my trainer was at home i had another trainer which Kathy introduced me to (STEVE) he helped me with alot of things that i needed to know.Anyways thats my experience with training. Like i said earlier i am taking my experience with training and using it as a positive and will continue promoting May Trucking. One day i will be a trainer.

That is an unreal story man. I'm sorry you had that experience. Doesn't surprise me though. May has an unbelievable turnover rate and they are desperate for "trainers". Unfortunately, all to often that kind of jerk is what new recruits get stuck with.
I'd write all that down and send it to Cindy Conklin in Brooks. -
yes i will definately report that, especially for leaving you at the TA thats a messed up move right there. Contact cindy and let her know everything that happened and his name. That is unacceptable
