Starting training on 9/13 with Prime

Orientation is over, physical & drug test done, interview is done. Got a study class at 3 and another class at 4. Tomorrow is testing for the permit. I don't think I'll have any issues - I have been studying the CDL manual for a few weeks and have passed (100%) all the sample tests at christcdl's web site - general knowledge, air brakes, combination, hazmat, tanker, double & triples. Although will only be testing on the first three while a student.

If anyone is looking for more info about the training program please read my post in the thread called "ask your questions about prime inc here".

 

I don't see that it would be possible, especially during the orientation, instruction and training process. During that first week, figure on 8-10 hours or more each day. After the first week you are going to be on the road with your CDL instructor, learning how to drive a truck, this will be 75-100+ hours (3-5 weeks) of driving time, OTR, across the country, living in a truck with someone else. When that is done you'll be back in MO to take your driving test, when that is done you will be back on the road again for at least 30,000 miles (1-2 months) - that truck will be rolling 20-22 hours every day with you doing half of it. When that is done, you will either be driving solo or team. If team, again 20-22 hours a day that truck is moving. If solo you should be driving 9-11 hours a day, other work related tasks for the other 3-5 hours, and sleeping/resting for at least 8-10 hours a day. If your not doing that, then you either are not working hard enough or safe enough. Good luck keeping your job.
