Thanks folks. Btw, this also applies to my fleet manager. I have NEVER yelled at him. If we are upset I tease him and make a joke. I then finish each of those calls or emails with the same phrase "at least Anne still likes you"
We average about 6000 miles a week and we love the guy. We have heard from other teams that hate him. I am pretty sure the difference is our attitude.ThaWarLock, mtnMoma and DenaliDad Thank this. -
Well maybe it is Karma? Maybe being honest, fair, having respect for others, and as SheepDog says Integrity does pay off??
mtnMoma, NoCoCraig and ThaWarLock Thank this. -
Good luck to you...And Craig I'm in your home state.

i think nococraig has the right idea.If you yell and get mad nothing gets done other than saying things u will regret later, why not joke around a little and be respectfull an figure out a middle ground solution. going to put in my ap for xpress either friday or monday.

Another update - Change in plans after talking with the trainer. Instead of meeting him in Tunnel Hill, I am going to meet him in Jonesville, SC Monday morning.
mtnMoma and ThaWarLock Thank this. -
I really hope this is a better experience! Good luckThaWarLock and HD_Renegade Thank this. -
Sounds like USX hired more new folks than they can train well, including trainers. It's a pattern I'm seeing on many of the forum threads. I just wish companies would realize they are not helping their situation by doing that. It's better to have a well-trained workforce than a huge workforce of under-trained folks. I hope things work out for you, HD. You deserve it. USX deserves good employees like you.
mtnMoma Thanks this. -
I talked with a person I went to CDL School with and he went to Orientation at USX one week after I did, and his EMP# was like 250 higher, so that makes me think that they hired 250 + people in just a week. I would not think that they have enough "Good" trainers to support that?? Plus it makes me wonder about the turn over rate of people getting into the Trucking Industry too.mtnMoma Thanks this.

You're totally spot on. Part of an effective training program - a very critical part - is indoctrinating new employees to "the way" of the company. If the trainer is not well-seasoned, and it sounds like yours wasn't, there is no way the trainee will get the best OJT and will probably depart. That becomes very expensive for the company and does not help their reputation in the long term.
