My partner and I where thinking about doing otr teaming with us express by the sounds of the post it make me question if we should go with this company or a different one? Any pointers as to how they take care of their teams? If they do?

While I do not currently work for USX, and in spite of my own negative prior experiences with the company, I would still say that IF team driving is what you are looking to do and this will be your first company (your profile says 'wannabe', so I am assuming this will be your first) I think you would be hard-pressed to find another trucking company willing to pay $.48 cpm to start, and offer you newer equipment too. Driving a truck comes laden with many challenges most of us have not had to deal with in other careers, so to say that any one company in particular is consistently worst than any other is probably not realistic or fair. Also, team power units are much more likely to be treated with more regard and efficiency from dispatch than solo trucks as well. A team unit offers the company more options and flexibility than a solo driver can deliver, and of coarse a 2 yr old tractor with 400,000 miles is going to have a higher resale value than a 4 yr old one with the same mileage. From the company's perspective, the Return On Investment from a team unit is more profitable than for a solo unit so it just makes good sense to try harder to efficiently utilize that asset.
NoCoCraig and his wife have numerous excellent posts on several of the USX threads, and they have posted an off site blog that details their experiences from truck driver school through the present. You've probably already read through it but if not, then it would be time well spent. USX also offers a $5000 (I think its still available) sign-on bonus provided both team members have their Haz Mat endorsement. It is paid out in increments over many months rather than all at once, but a very nice perk nonetheless.
Being a truck driver "...is what it is", and we all have days when we wish we could get past (not necessarily at USX) the bullet proof glass and the armed security guards and march up to somebody's desk and 'unload'
; but then there are the other days when its hard to imagine doing anything else!!

Poobah...LOL....no, that is not the company......I'm only hesitant to say the company based on something that Flood said about not being able to say who he is running with.
gonzotrucker......I have no intentions of ever going team......I like running solo, being kinda in charge of my days, stopping where/when it suits me and works with the loads. -
Which, after two decades of managing a workforce of federal inspectors, is exactly what attracts me to OTR. That and being on a road other than the one I take to and from work every day. I like my alone time and I've had precious little of it. It's time.Jarhed1964 Thanks this.

I too like the idea of being the Commander of my own Ship too.

Thank you, Kinghunter.....I don't interact a lot on the other threads, but I do a lot of reading and I have a great deal of respect for you.
The Challenger Thanks this. -
Anna I am surprised that they wouldn't try to keep you on. Women trainers are definitely in short supply. I just picked up on the news that you were moving to another division from another female driver LOL. It is definitely a small world out here. I feel truly blessed that Craig and I have had such a great experience. Don't get me wrong it isn't always rainbows and gumdrops but I really do love what we are doing and having such an amazing ride at the same time. It makes me sad that good people aren't being treated the way they deserve. I really hope everything works out for you and I'm glad you aren't leaving USX. I will always remember the first day of training with Dodd when you came marching in to say hi to us.
Jarhed1964 and DenaliDad Thank this. -
