I was listening to the radio and there is a law going threw congress to not let trucks drive from midnight to 6am. Does anyone have any info on this?

I have not seen anything in regards to this on OOIDA's call to action. And I would think that they would be all over that. Did you hear it on the CB or sat radio?
-
Are you referring to the proposed 34hr rule of it encompassing 2 midnight to 6am periods?...
Tazz, RAGE 18 and Onetruckpony Thank this. -
but the big cities want deliveries in the "off peak" hours! Guess they will just have to starve!
-
If Sat radio what station? Sounds like a station that would be found on the left end of the dial..
-
Ain't never gonna happen. To many big companies run most of their line haul during this time period. Sounds like another CB rumor to me. . .
-
wonder how this would pertain to teams?
-
I believe that's what it is. I read about that somewhere a while back. In a nutshell, they'll leave the 34 restart alone BUT to get the restart, you must sit during two consecutive periods of midnight to 6am.VARITHMS Thanks this.

So wouldn't that turn the 34 hr restart into something more like a 48 hr + restart? If you're running up against the clock at 6am, then shutdown for a 34 restart, wouldn't this 2-consecutive Midnight-6am then put you off more than 34 hrs. Currently you could start again by 6pm the following evening. However with the proposal, you must sit and wait another 12 hrs, from 6pm that evening to 6am?

Gotta love the truck radio network. It can spread more BS from coast to coast(also a ggod source of factual information) than a bull being shot into orbit.
RAGE 18, dieselbear, misterG and 2 others Thank this.
