Under the old rules you would have 14 available @ 12:01 Tuesday. -
hammer i agree. i was asking if i understood them correctly . my impression is if 70 on in last7/8 days. line 2 - line 1 = 0 available . cant drive till 34 are up. every one keeps saying you drop a day so you can drive the next day. i dont see how this is possible if line 2 says i have no hours available for next day.

You don't run 14 hours a day on recap. Besides you can't drive 14 hours a day.
Do you not control your on duty not driving time? If you can't control that then yes you need a restart.
If you are going to abuse your hours by logging 3 hours a day on duty not driving, then the 34-hour reset was made for you. I personally will never have more than 1 hour and seldom that much. -
i was using that as an examplei know you can only drive 11 and have 3 on duty . im usually driving up to 11 and same on duty about an hour. this is the part that keeps getting me. heres another example
at the end of my 7th day my recap reads 70 on duty in last 7 days. after subtracting that from 70 = 0 available for next day. everyone says you can keep going by dropping 8th day. i still would have 70 on when i woke up and still have 0 available where are the magical hours coming from? -

Then you should reset, its to your advantage. If you have recap hours falling of its to your advantage to run on recap

Now, even if you made all your line 4 disappear and drove 11 hours a day after 6 days you would have 66 hours. Take off the 7th day and you're starting the new week with a fresh 70 having averaged 9.4... hours a day which is more than 8.75.
Realistically though, with pre trips, loading/unloading, fuel etc averaging ¾ of an hour of line 4 each day is realistic or low. Therefore you easily burn through 70 in 6 days, take your 10 hours plus a day off for the 34 and start again on day 8 with a fresh 70 having averaged 10 hours a day.
That's assuming you start each day at the same time. Since their is no daily limit in the US, only shift limits, you can easily start earlier each day if you work it right and don't mind waking up each day a little earlier than the last which would actually get you your 70 plus a reset a half day or so earlier with 11 driving and averaging only ¾ of an hour of line 4 each day.
So yeah, I think there is a definite difference.KRAKAJACKJONSON Thanks this.
