I don't understand this either. I run a mechanical motor and don't run anything in it. Plus I always figured by paying to put the extra additives in it, for the gain if any, the cost wasn't worth it in the end.
Are you guys going off of what the ECM says? I seen Frenzy is but whats everyone else doing?
Myself........5.5mpg's and proud!Oh wait I got 5.8 this week, I had a light load on, only 66k......

I go off the Dash, but i compare and check it with how much fuel i can fit at my next fuel stop, i dont do the 50 gal BS. I always top it off at every stop so i can keep track of fuel useage
my QC also matches the dash and my math

what way is that?

Next fuel up write your miles down. Then at the following fuel up write them miles down. Subtract the miles and divide by the gallons you put in.
That is the only proper way to check fuel mileage.Zaros, willardskillard and BigJohn54 Thank this. -
thats what i do....re read my post lol

That could mean a lot of things...
Once knew a guy who figured he got 6 mpg's so he'd figure the miles he ran and divide by 6. The sum would be how many gallon he's put in even though the tanks weren't full, he still figured he got 6 mpg's..... -
It's pretty clear to me what AT meant and does. I do it the same way.
The difference between my dash mpg and tank to tank mpg is usually just under 1%. When I have a good run I like to take a photo of the dash display. The photo in my signature is from this year, an mt run from Medford Or to Sumner WA. I had gotten Mr. Haney's turbo installed and had an over night drive with the road to myself. I probably averaged 50 mph.
On the additive to the fuel, I like to run 5 to 10% biodiesel if I can get it at a reasonable cost and time. Otherwise a gal or two of two stroke oil works well.Last edited: Sep 18, 2011
