You must be new in the job market. It doesn't matter if you left on good terms or not. Job-hopping looks horrible on your resume. There is no such thing as the perfect job. You're going to find something to complain about everywhere you go. The only difference is the paint on the side of the truck.

The grass is greener on the other side because of the BS they used for fertilizer.

You're not going to go anywhere in life getting a new job every 3 months as you will never build up senority.

    Case in point:

I drive for one of the worst proclaimed carriers in the industry as people in this forum say (England). I've been with the company a year. I make 35 cents a mile and drive 2600+ miles a week as a company driver. Stick it out. Don't believe it when others say it can't be done because believe me, if I can make it at England, anyone can.

Well just to give you a point, before I started driving, I was with my last employer for 4.5 years and left on good terms. I am not a job hopper, I just expect to be treated like a human being and not like a robot. I am a hard worker and I believe in getting the job done but when the company openly does things over and over again to screw you intentionally you have to put your foot down at some point. Sorry if this doesn't meet your idea of a truck driver, I am not you and everyone else, I am me. If a company wants to take care of me I will take care of them.

My point is: you're at the bottom of the totem pole. Continue to change jobs every 3ish months and you will stay at the bottom of the totem pole. You're previous work history is irrelevant now. Trucking is a new ball game. It isn't your average 9-5 no hassle job.

If you have a issue then speak up, but speak up to the right people.

I don't know what all issues you have with your company, but I'd be willing to bet you're going to get the same shenanigans at the next job. And the next job. And the next job.

Instead of quitting: attempt to work it out, or change fleets.

If you need to be home on a daily basis, then driving OTR isn't for you. You need a local company bacause all OTR companies are the same.

Not gonna speak for all employers but to some, excessive job-hopping shows that you don't like to stay with an occupation for every long, whether it's because you are hard to please or you can't make up your mind on who you want to drive for which isn't the problem, its the fact that they realize no company is perfect and there's always something or someone that your not going to like or agree with.

But, you need use your own common sense and judgement to the best of your ability deciding on what you can tolerate and what you simply cannot put up with.

I totally DISAGREE with this statement....."all OTR companies are the same"
NO THEY ARE NOT MY FRIEND!!!! All "mega" carriers are the same......IE: J.B. Hunt, Schneider, England, Swift, Prime, Covenant, Werner, and the like....

Some times the grass IS greener

    You're right about this, but........
Not this. Although mega-carriers are every similar, they do have their differences and no, I'm not just talking about the name.

Yes, but is it worth it??

Yes, don't listen to all when only 1 of 68,000 members has the only best idea.

Just go read some of the company hiring requirements on their websites. If you have 10 jobs in 12 years, you will never be happy anywhere. The whole idea is to find a stable job and then you get treated better. Nobody likes a quitter.

Bouncing around as a noobie is not going to make things better. You'll get the same treatment everywhere until you get your experience. Learn how to tough it out and adjust your attitude to the industry. Only then will you see things get better.

Seems like most people on this board have completely forgotten what it was like to start out in the industry or it was a little better when they did and they have no idea how badly you are treated now by the starter companies. I asked for ideas for a new job not an invitation to berate me or call me a job hopper. Bottom line, now days people go through some jobs in trucking to find a good one. I am trying to find a company that is a good fit so I can stay there for a few years.

Well get on it, you have their number LOL! Good luck brother hope the info I gave you was helpful....

And to the other guy who said 10 jobs in 12 years, you'll never be happy? Ask wannadrive, I'm pretty sure he's well aware that I'm extremely happy where I'm at now. :)
