There are a few of us who still try and elmer ..... Some who still know how to build and matain stuff even with advancing age and decline eyesight.

You said way too much to comment on except to say much of it is right some spend way too much time on the legal end and way too little on
    making things work better .......

    Just my thoughts ....

I was just on 10 meter, made contact with Spain EA7HCJ, Italy IK2WZM and Croatia 9A1HDE, then the band closed up, just that quick :biggrin_2553:

    Hey CHICKENMAN,
I run into the same problem you’ve described almost daily. With that being said, I am sure that I have been guilty of not responding to others. Most of the time, while on my cell phone or two-way talking, I turn my CB down. Sometimes I forget to turn it back up because I am distracted by other things like checking mirrors, watching for deer, stopped or stopping school buses--- etcetera. There have also been times when I have called out hazards or bear reports and didn’t receive any response, and then I realize after getting in a huff, that my radio was still turned down from the last time I was running my mouth on the two-way or cell phone. When I was an over the road driver, I would purposely turn off my CB anytime I got near a truck stop because all I ever heard was negativity, racism and hatred. Who needs to hear that mess after driving through a big city or anywhere there might be heavy traffic and your blood pressure is already through the roof? The stress that I was just referring to is the reason I am now hauling sticks and chips. (Logs and chipped wood) I would rather deal with logging roads, twisty mountain roads that over-look cliffs, two-lane roads that are really a lane and a half. Plus I make more money than I did when I drove over the road and I am home every night that I choose to be. Sorry for getting off track with my response. Just keep doing what you feel is right to do. Don’t get upset for lack of response because you have enough to deal with as it is. Keep shouting out the hazards because one day you may save a life even if they do not respond.

You can attack and demonize me all you want turbo but truth is what you are attacking. You say I am like Gadfly but he hijacks threads endlessly badgering truckers over points of law. I do not do this. I have never done this. All I am doing is simply pointing out the truth and asking you people to stop it. If you had any respect for the people who come here, drive truck or run CB radios, you would not be hijacking every single thread for the same reason. Not just you but all of you who do. So no you cannot make any comparisons between me and gadfly or anyone like him. All I am doing is asking for this to stop. Show people respect and let them have their threads and conversations in peace and on topic. Anyone can read any of a thousand posts on this site and see the general trend is for hammers to come in badgering CB'ers over the law, hijacking the threads, over and over nonstop. I do not do the same here. I merely point out the obvious truth documented in the many hundreds of thousands of words on this site backing up my point. That and to say enough of it leave people alone and stop the nonstop of hijacking every thread on this site endlessly complaining and harassing people for their choice of radios. It is not your job to enforce the law period. What possible connection to the title of this thread is post after post badgering the poor guy about the law. The connection to this thread in my posts here is obvious, to ask you all to stop the constant hijacking and let the topic go back to what it started out being. THE NEXT WORD YOU SPEAK IN THIS THREAD WILL EITHER BE ON TOPIC OR IT WILL BE A CONTINUATION OF YOUR ENDLESS HIJACKING. People get sick of this and I for one did not come to this site to listen to it. What gives any of you the right to come here as self righteous and self appointed ham/CB police and hijack every single thread on this truck drivers site in a CB forum. Nothing but a lacking in the things which all decent people possess.

AB7IF, the reason why I mentioned you and Gadfly is because you tend to have a lot of endless bickering. Just like in your last post and in your rebuttal. It's not an attack to you by any means, just more the less an observation.

I don't hijack threads. Yes I might alert people who are looking at buying an export about the frequencies on their radio that they're not supposed to use unless licensed. That's just me simply being nice about it, about the same when people flash their lights to alert another motorist of an accident up ahead. If that pisses you off, well (1.) too bad so sad and (2.) grow some thicker skin. I do my part to help people "be aware". I personally don't care if you do run an export radio. Just take the time to "learn" what the band channel is and where to talk and where not to. Not everyone is in the know so I try to help. Spread the knowledge so I say.

And before you throw another tantrum and spend the next hour typing a novel that the average Joe could get across in half a paragraph, maybe you should consider how many times the hams on the 10 meter band have to deal with someone with their echo and roger beeped radio, in the non voice part of 10 meter band? They're as tired of dealing with it as you are reading these posts. The only difference is you have the right not to come here and read them, but you did so that's your fault. The ham working 10 meters OTOH that's his turf and he shouldn't have to vacate said frequency he worked for because an intruder landed on their bands.

I did not call you nor anyone else specifically out in this thread until your attack on me, so your endless bickering comment in a moot point. You are attacking me both here and in your insulting PM meaning the bickering is coming from you. All I did after seeing this hijack scenario play out in every single thread I read on this site decide here it was time to point it out to all and ask for it to stop. I can see your still off topic. It is not about the topic for you it's all about the fight. I am done wasting my time. Other than to point out you just told the world the reason every thread on this board is hijacked by hammers is because once someone who may or may not be a truck driver once irritated you with an echo. Your response, come here and never stop making every other soul on earth keep paying for it forever. Go figure.
