So I studied, I went, I conquered. Well, not really. The air brakes test and the combination test were tricky. Most of the ones I missed were due to discrepencies or not matching up with the study booklet.
For instance, the book says the emergency brakes will come on between 20-40 psi, with an average of around 35, but the test only offered answers of 20, 40, 60, 100 or something like that. I chose 40, but the correct answer was 20......go figure.
Just glad its over. The written part next time should be easier after school in a few weeks!!! Just got my notification for orientation next week, then start school on 9/5/07 at a local tech school.
Got my CDL permit today!!!!

How is this a question?
-
It's all in the wording TJ. Read the questions carefully. For example, I think the question you refered to might have read something like, what is the MINIMUM air pressure before buttons pop? Which of course would be 20. I know... I might be all wet (insufficient info), but just say'n. Those tests are pretty well vetted from defect. Study hard, do well. And remember, it's not just about passing the test, it's about gaining knowledge. Congratulations, and good luck!

Not so much a question, but more of a statement about the lack of continuity between the study guide and the actual test.
Perhaps I'm looking for anyone else that encountered these problems and/or advising those about to take their test about the situation.
A few of the questions would be comparable to taking a math test and the guide you're studying says 2 + 2 = a range between 3-5 (notwithstanding this is basic knowledge), but on the test the answer could be 3, 4, or 5 and you have to guess. -
No guessing about it. They supply you with the correct answer to choose...right?
