It shouldn't even be an issue. Especially with the big National Companies. If it causes problems, you've got Uncle Sam to back you up.
Anyway the huge trucking companies are so busy firing experienced drivers to replace them with lower paid NooBs they won't really care how you conduct your personal life. They're more likely to fire someone because a tire touched an orange cone in a backing exercise than over social issues.
I'm pretty sure acceptance is finally here, just pick a good quality company and give them a good value as an employee. If they won't reciprocate, find a better quality organization.
Any gay friendly training companies?

Seriously.... what constitutes a "gay friendly" company? For that matter, what constitutes a "hetero friendly" company? Who even cares? I sure don't. People have asked me if I have come to accept homosexuality. I usually reply "NO", but I HAVE come to tolerate it, just like I tolerate anything else I don't understand or agree with. It's none of my business, period. Go ahead and drive a truck while gay, I'm willing to bet it doesn't affect my life in the LEAST bit. I'll live, and I'll bet everyone else will too.

Don't get excited when you hear of a company that swaps loads. They are talking about the trailers...

None of the larger companies that hire rookies has domestic partnership benefits if that is what you are asking and none of them care if you are gay. Just like they don't care if you are straight. Just do your job and it is all good.

The most discriminated against people in the world are people like me. I'm a white male heterosexual cigarette smoker. The country and the laws offer me no protection or preference of any kind.

did you forget where you are? any thread on here can degenerate if the right people get on here to play around.
To O/P would agree with alot of the people here on the matter. Keep it to yourself and a select few people. Talk to a recruiter and mention if you could prefer a trainer that is gay. If your male and unable to find a gay male trainer see about requesting a female trainer. sometimes some guys might get uneasy around a gay person in close quarters. Not saying you would do anything. just would feel uneasy about doing some things they would do normally and might feel you would hit on them. Also careful going to some places to drop a load. Im sure the north might be better advanced to handle it. But doubt the southern states would handle it all too easily.Injun and Jarhed1964 Thank this. -

If this is a real question then could you explain what a gay friendly starter company looks like.
I am not the smartest guy in the world but I would be a safe guess that ANY company would tell you they are "gay friendly"....whatever the heck that is.
If you can do the job then who cares if you are a man, woman, color, religion and or gay.
From what I have researched about starter companies is this so far:
1: Must be between ages of 24-55...but some will hire 21-101
2: Must pass all the tests.....some will let you take as many times as needed
3: Some offer .38cpm with full bennies...Most start off just under minimum wage and a 5 year grace period on bennies
Not one asked if I was gay.
If I was to tell them I was half black, half asian, transvestite and a quarter jewish on my mothers side they would still hire me if I could do the job,and of course work for low pay and never complain.
If this is a real question, then get back to everyone here and explain the concerns.
My guess is...with this as the first post you have had,and picking a name like gaytrucker then all you want is to start a gay bashing thread.
Please prove me wrong.captw900, Big Don and AfterShock Thank this.
