Actually marten is putting them on lite fleets now. Im in one. And the reason marten is in the bad company name is because they suck as a compay as a whole.

Rethink regional. Enjoy the same quality equipment, only with a much smaller sleeper.

At one time Marten was a great company to drive for, great miles and good pay compared to many other companies. The bottom line is they are not that company today, they simply are not the drivers friend anymore. They operate like a company that truly believes a driver is an unfortanate evil that they shouldn't have to pay for so they have structured their operation to get the frieght moved in other ways so that they have use and therefore pay a driver to move it. The result is all of the rail shippments across the country and drivers only being used to deliver it from the rail yards or being used for regional loads which results in short miles and small paychecks, and then you get your perdiem taken out of that and are charged .03 a mile for it that you don't get back. These are just some of the big reasons Marten is not so great these days and those of use who whatched this change happen have found new homes, hey we were to high on the pay scale so they wanted us gone anyway because the now punish your for longevity along with everything else.

On a side note Martin out of Tomah,WI was bought out by J&R Shugle about 5 years ago.

Nope, Martin that had red trucks and was based out of Tomah, WI was aquired by J&R Shugel. I can remember seeing Shugel trucks with their trailers when that first happened and so i checked on it and sure enough that was the case. Martin Milk out Wilton was never involved with them in any way.
