I no longer work at Hunt, took a job to spend more time with my kids and be home more. The hometime is out 3 weeks, home 3-4 days, the insurance is pretty decent because it is all through Crete and it's BCBS of Nebraska, and as far as the trailers you will pull them all and they do a lot of drop and hook, so you will pull a flat, go to Grand Island, NE grab, a RGN, then go to Kentucky and get a step so it does not matter.

Left Metal Transportation to drive for Hunt, the cpm was lower than what I was getting @ Metal, but less headaches. Not a bad company at all, my issue for leaving them was my move to GA from NC to be closer to my family. Hunt would only dispatch my home time from NC address. I guess telling them a month out that I was moving wasn't sufficient. Anyway, not a bad company, I rarely lived loaded except @ nucor. no waiting for unloading. Honestly folks, I enjoyed the time there, no breakdown issues, plenty of securement, unlike some companies I've worked with since my Hunt days. Was able to talk to all the people in the office and maintenance with zero issues. DAC report has 0 negatives on it. So imho not bad to work for. If you can get on in this economy, get a truck and drive it, they have the miles, at least when I was there.

Kind of an old thread but lets see if I can revive it. got a call from Barb at recruiting and she said all looks good on my MVR and background. Wants me to come in for orientation. Paid rental car from PA to NE, sounds too good to be true. I mean not a bus ticket? She said if I go with the regional run I will be out for 6-7 days and get 2 days hometime. Any truth to that? I know that recruiters are there to get your butt in the seat but I would like to believe that there is some truth to what they say.
Are there any current Hunt drivers here and what are thier inputs on this? Please any info would be great. I am an out of work driver who is at a high school level job trying to support a family on 7.65 an hour. Just aint happening. So these companies that are talking to me are sounding better and better, but some are too good to be true. -
I am trying to come to hunt are they a easy /laid back company too work for or tight shirt bunch

Hunt will never be a decent place to work until they get rid of Dave Galley.

Did any of you Hunt drivers ever drive the 9400I's Hunt use to have? Me and another buddy of mine bought 2 of those trucks, '06 with Cummins ISX, 10spd Meritor.
I'm wondering, because both seem to be a bit hard to shift. We both have always had Eaton's, so not sure if that's how Meritor's are. Do Meritor's usually have a harder trans? We also notice that you have to shift at higher RPM's. Thanks. -
Meritors are as hard to shift as the old Rockwells were. Give me and Eaton-Fuller any day!

I haven't been there in over 7 years but they weren't bad to drive for. We were treated fairly well. My complaint was low miles (we were hired on as a team) and the home time policy was garbage. One day out for each week you were out was what we were originally told and the truth of the matter is it is based on your "performance". Well fill in the blanks on that one, Driver. That is subject to so many variables, mostly dispatch, that it's not even amusing. That was the only lie we ever caught them in. Hope this helps ya.
