I just switched from 7/4 7/3 to 14/7 and my miles have increased. I finished last week with just over 2900 and this week should be about the same.

Not sure what the comment about the APU is because mine runs just like it should as longs as I need it.

    bonbonsron Thanks this.

On the first few set of ProStars that they got in (in Dec ), the inverters are set to shut down after 2 hours of use. It doesn't affect the APU as far as heating/cooling or charging the batteries.

Don't do a reset run on your recap hours

It will reset after being off for 10 hours. It's not as bad as we thought it would be.... The only thing we use it for is the microwave and coffee pot. The down side is if you forget to turn the inverter off after making coffee in the morning you are stuck buying coffee the rest of the day :(

On the 14/7 or the 7/4 7/3 do they let you keep the truck or is it slip seating?

They tell me you share the truck with three other drivers.

well this is an old thread, but what the heck, I'll add my 2-cents. I'm bored anyway. I drove 14-7 for Roehl out of Gary in van division. I only did it for 2 months before going back to national. I am single and live in Michigan which is more expensive to live in than Wisconsin. I found that 14-7 was not good at all. Yes, it was great having a week off at a time, but the problem I had was if you got 2 bad weeks in a row, which seemed to always happen (low freight, breakdowns, etc) then I would have no money to even enjoy myself on my week off, and when I did have money I would always be broke when I returned to duty anyway. It was fun, but I don't see how anybody could be happy with the low income....at least with the Michigan cost of living. Most OTR's out there are 1 day off for every 7 out. Roehl does 3 off for 11 out which I find to be an excellent compromise! Power of Red, BABY!
