Trucks Handbook in Russian

I don't think you'll find a driving book in Russian.. I have never seen them.. We are not a russian speaking country.. English and French will probably be all you will find...

Shouldn't he know how to speak english if he plans on getting a job here??? I mean I don't know how you can't get employment without being able to talk English... I would suggest he learns how to speak english before coming to Canada...

There should be an online translator he can use.

Now with that done I'm with the above poster. Your brother should have a decent understanding of the english or french language both written and verbal. By working in Canada & the US you have to figure almost everyone you have to deal with is going to speak english

 

Don't quote me on this but I'm pretty sure the written test can be requested in a different language. But the drive and inspection tests must be in french or english as it's proof the person taking the test can communicate with authorities if needed. By authorities I mean Border guards, Police and DOT

 

It is my belief that most Russian people seem to have a reasonably easy time learning functional English. Learning to speak either one of Canada's official languages is a must really. Not too many employers will look at you if you don't. Customer communication would be very difficult without English as so many driving jobs involve shipments to the US. If the Ministry of Transport would allow you to do your written test in Russian then you would be liable to provide (and pay for) a certified translator. I know there are many organizations out there now that teach English for employment as the planet has become so "global." Best of luck to your brother and welcome to Canada!!!

 

I would think you best bet would be to call the MOT and ask them... I have never seen a translated book to study nor have I ever heard of a test.. Then again I only speak english.. So I have no need to look... Seriously tho just call up MOT, I think this would be the best way to get a 100% for sure answer...

Again like I (and others) said he NEEDS to know english... English is just spoken all over the US and Canada... French is good to have if your going into Quebec (mostly Quebec City, Montreal is English and French)... If you plan on OTR English is the language to have. Also like I think you would need to know english for the driving test because the signs are all in english (french in all of Quebec) so you should know how to read them.. Then again I don't know french and go into Quebec I get a understanding of signs (like a stop sign is still red and has 8 signs.. it just says arret instead of stop)
