you can set your own pta....out will set to the last time I it was put in......do it when you accept a load.....you can do a reset when you need one.....set your pta accordingly them refuse the load if it does not work for your reset....be sure to state your reasions when you do this......but they do not have to let you take one...if you have hrs..you run..I also cannot say there will not be payback for doing this also....just the way it is

scottied67 and hazmat777 Thank this. -
I'm at a Best Western across from the KW dealer off of I-240
Going to dinner tonight at Marlowe's Ribs over by Graceland, they are sending a PINK CADDY LIMO over to the hotel at 7pm to pick me up!

So you will have 14 hrs available tomorrow?..........no need for a 34 if they give you a load you can do with the hours you have available!
Not having clean clothes sucks but ya gotta run while ya can! If you have a little extra time on a load make sure you stop at a TS to do your laundry next time instead of getting the load there early! -
i wish i had to reset,,,,,, i usualy get a day off BETWEEN loads,
hazmat777 Thanks this. -
I disagree Bud, If I am close on hours, I will imform my FM of the status, They should already have reviewed my hours with the preplan, discuss the preplan and go from there. Every driver has different driving style. As for laundry i agree, do it durning your 10.

to some of us oldtimers this is funny. there use to not be any reset( like foxfire said) if you have hrs RUN... THERE NOT gona let you run over your 70, an if by chance its gona happen TELL THEM they will take care of it, as for laundry do it whenever you can , back when we actually made money there was no reset , you ran what ya got back an breaks were 8hr not 10

AN im not laughn at you Shasta, just the way things change, by all means if you have questions ask, thats what its all about !
Jarhed1964 Thanks this. -
I understand you Shasta. You are a new guy and maybe some of these old timers have forgot what its like. We are so use to super trucking it up.
First off the man said he wants a fresh 70 So he can Run. Just as my log book is real ugly due to 4hrs coming off one day and 9 hrs the next day and 3 hrs the next day. Its hard to plan your trip, and you get stuck on crappy loads, and may even miss a good loads if you have a full 11 hrs you can drive everyday. I hear you loud and clear shasta. Some dispatchers will do that, and if you have the hours they will make you take the load.
I haven't set my pta yet because I'm having the same problem. I really don't want to take a 34 but I might have to, but seeing if I can merge a bad day with a good day depending on my guess on if i'll get another load.
What you are saying is your dispatcher is setting your pta and not you. Unfortunately some of us are sitting inbetween loads, and sometimes we can get some time off that way.
I set my pta for 8am, I get a 1400 load the next day. or I set my pta for 1900, and I get a 8am load not the next day but the following day. You have to use your time wisely, and if you need 10hrs of sleep bro. Don't do you laundry. Go to sleep.
They are fleet manager's not driver managers because all they care about is the fleet's performance not your pay check. Hang in there bro sometimes you have to have a plan A and a plan B especially if you know how your dispatcher works.Scooby379 Thanks this. -
Scooby what do you mean you sit inbetween loads. Didn't you read the doc holiday how to get miles book with JBS.
Speaking of Doc Holiday I wonder where he's been hiding.
