I Am not an owner operator yet....
And I have been out of the Seat for over a decade.
But I am in the Oilfield, and I do order Trucks from all the Major "Hot-Shot" Companies.
And over the decade + that I have been in this business, I have Met alot of drivers.
I cant Tell you for Sure about Owner operators and their experience with these companies "All the Time"
    But...
ALL of the Major Hot-shot Companies Have Alliances with MANY MANY major Oil Companies. And they Haul for "Cut-Throat Rates".
So Make sure and Talk to the Actual Drivers that Run for these guys, Before you sign on.
I have known many new drivers to sign on with Ace, Acme, Venture, etc... Only to Loose money on an Alliance Run.
And when they confronted their dispatcher, the Management Assured them that they would make it up elsewhere, but the Company had these Alliances, and "Every once in a while" these runs had to be made.
Well....The drivers went elsewhere...(To make a long story Short)
Not trying to Scare you away, And you may be running on your own authority,,,,So, This may not apply.
Just wanted to make you aware of how it Works for Some that I met.
Dont be afraid to ask Questions!!! Before Signing up with ANYONE!!
    peace -

Acme Truckline? Isn't that the company that always delivered the rocket packs and roller skates to the thing that was always trying to kill the roadrunner?

    Sorry!! Couldn't resist. :biggrin_2559:
