Wondering About You Truckers' Previous Careers

I was home health aide. factory workertemp office worker. Now, I do know why- when I started trucking- - " Why do truck drivers change companies so much?" Last company GSTC fired me for another driver taking pics of my fering , which was a bit bent. He did not like it because I would not spend night with him One before that, we were late with one load after working 1 week. Reason-- to go 6 hours 1 way to retrieve one of their abandoned trucks. Now, I wish I could privately work with an o/o . I do not trust companies.

 

Thinking the title to this thread should have been "Wondering About You Truckers" because I wonder about us sometimes, too.

 

Got my first driving job on my 18th birthday, and I've been getting paid to drive one size vehicle or another ever since.

 

12 years as a Marine, 3 years as a car mechanic and drag racer. Got burned out and went broke drag racing so I started driving a truck. I enjoyed working on race cars, abhorred working on factory stock over engineered modern cars so I left it completely.

I was a Nurse that worked in Oncology for 20 years. When my mom passed on from cancer and my dad was diagnosed with cancer I decided to find a new career.

 

Restaurant Manager and poker player. Now I'm just a poker player.

 

let see?, be fore I drove a truck, I had a career as a high school student, and before that, I had a career in a jr high school and prior to that, there was elimentary school, before that, I just goofed off

1 Mcdonalds for a year
2 Bagging grocies for a while
3 Worked at a christian TV station (ran 2 million watt transmitter)
4 sold go fast parts at Jegs in columbus
5 moved to florida and drove local for Home Depot
6 Worked a Crane Cams as a technical consultant
7 Moved back to ohio started a local towing company
8 went to Police Acadamy
9 vocational high school substitute teacher (auto mechanics) part time
10 Police officer, county constable, court baliff and special(volunteer)sheriff deputy. Pretty much all at the same time.
11 work at a industrial maintance mechanic at the moment.

 

I worked as a security guard for a firm in Detroit. My posts included Detroit Metro Airport, the Detroit Metro Hilton, Comerica park, and a few other places. Mainly strip clubs and bars. I also worked Loss Prevention at Kmart for a while (a short while as I hated that job).
