I am thinking after I earn enough money of maybe buying a used truck from them.
Schneider Fleet Sales inventory
My question is, has anyone had any dealings with them? 2:64 ratio seems like it might strain things and would appreciate your oppinions. Yes I realize I may have to think about a engine and transmission.

I got Shnider truck.
There were some problems.
Air bags, sleeper air bags, all brake shoes, leveling valve (i had ECAS kit and did conversion), some oil leaks and bad batteries. -
Just look over the truck very well. They will supply you with the ALL the trucks repair history since new. 2.64 is perfectly fine since they have a direct drive transmission.
That being said, they do take good care of their trucks, but you also have to remember that it has been a "company drivers" truck and was most likely abused just like ANY ex-fleet truck.
Just look over every poss thing and you should be good. I bought one back in 2003 and it ran 1yr w/o a repair and then I traded it off. For the $14k I paid, I was VERY VERY happy!!!lovesthedrive Thanks this. -
In 2004 I bought a former Interstate Distributor's truck that had 640K on it. Things slowly went wrong, including a bearing failure on the front axle at about 720K, the engine sucking a valve at 920K, and all the slow death of air bags and brake cans. I still have the truck. It may be the oldest in the yard, but it's the most likely to start and to finish the run. If you just get it into your head that 10 cents per mile is what maint is going to cost, then you will do alright. It's hard for some people to wrap their heads around the idea that it's the trucks money and it will get spent eventually.

I agree, Schnider truck is the gamble, drivers are different, some good, some not and truck may really be abused.
It is a good way to look at brake and clutch pedals to understand how hard truck was used.
Milage, I got mine with 600 k on clock.SHC Thanks this. -
I was also leased on to SNI for 5yrs, and the trucks have between 5-10 different drivers in them thru out their lives.
Teams get the trucks brand new usually, then it goes on to OTR or dedicated guys, then as it ages and gets older in the fleet, they give them to the newbies.
I do know that when you go to the yard and check out the truck, and you find anything wrong, they will fix it on the spot. So look it over very well.
Also I do believe all their trucks have Webasto heaters in them too, so thats a plus -
I got no heater.
I had to install it myself. -
Aren't you located in Europe tho???
I'm talking about US truck sales -
Believe it or not used US trucks are so cheap compared to local trucks you find them all over the world.
Where I'm from we are not allowed to import used trucks.
Something to do with protecting local manufacturers and maintaining standards.
Our neighboring countries import thousands of these and compete with us with trucks that cost at most half.
Plenty Pumpkins to be seen here in Africa , I assume in Russia as well. -
any truck older then 2004 more then likely wont have a webasto.
