no its still going on. not so much in north tx at the moment. last time i talked to the managers on the rigs, they said they were moving to pa, and la for about a year. then they will be back in north tx after that for a few more years. the boom is on. but the water hauling is going strong. and the oil hauling is also.regdawg1 Thanks this.

What about a newbie with no expierance? The companies I've applied for won't even return my phone calls. -
They get dozens of calls daily from drivers that don't follow through. If you want a job, go down for a week and apply in person. I'll bet you get hired in less than three days. -

good for you cplmac thinking about new start myself hear any good about werner
-
I dont' think I've ever heard anything good about Werner, but I never drove for them so I couldn't say. Good luck on your fresh start, seems like a lot of people are taking a crack at a new start. Once I get situated I'll post here where I hired and the names of the other companies that I know are hiring down there. Three of the places I'm checking out each bought 30 or more brand new trucks and are looking to fill all of those seats by November, so there is definitely hiring going on. A couple of these jobs are dry bulk, but most of them are oil industry hauling crude or frac or refined product. Like I said a couple of posts ago, in two weeks I had 20+ job offers, most of them from TX and LA. I had a couple of offers from ND, but they seemed a little sketchy when I spoke to them on the phone so I took a flyer and decided to head south where there is a little more stability in the industry.

How would the companies feel about a driver working ND six months and TX the other six months, every year?
-
they would maybe like it if you did winter in ND and summer in TX.
BigJohn54 Thanks this.
