Interesting thought.
GVWR of a suburban is about 7500.
Pulling a boat, pontoon boat in question on trailer, is bound to exceed 10,001.
Just a curious question, which you can answer by pm if you want.
Just how many of these have you seen?
The boat is usually covered in plastic, white so it cannot be missed.
I personally believe you would find a gold mine here.
No signs.
No authorization.
No medical card.
No Log book.
No commercial carrier insurance.
How many have you encountered?
I know that a Indiana DOT officer saw them.
He said, I wonder where they are taking that one.

What an unholy nightmare it would be if I was forced to 12 hrs.
Most of the time I don't work over 12, but you can be sure that if I was tied to that I'd have a whole bunch of days where I was over.
During a snow event its possible to put in A LOT of hours. 12 hr limit is unacceptable.
I'm certainly not going to invite trouble on myself any time soon.

The guys at your area port are not bad to deal with in my opinion. I have never had a problem there and most of the time they are sociable. -

The word on the street is the guys that work there are the problem children trying to get back into the good graces to get moved to an interstate position.
They've got history for being unpleasant. -
I will take your word on the other scale.
