If you start from the start, without a CDL, you don't start getting paid until your CDL schooling is complete. While a CDL student, you can draw $250 as an interest free loan each week. How quickly you progress through CDL training depends on how quickly you catch on. Most students get it done in about a month or so. At that point, you'll officially be a Prime employee and will make $500 / week or 10cpm for all miles driven between yourself and your trainer, whichever is higher. After a certain amount of time (possibly 4 weeks?) you'll get $600 / week or 12cpm until training is complete (another 6 to 8 weeks or so - give or take).
-
Its $200 a week n you must be out for 75 hours of actual drive time, or 100. Once you get your CDL, you will be paid $600 a week minimum. If you make more than 5000 miles, your paid at 12cpm. You will be out with your trainer for a minimum of 30,000 miles. This is based on the dispatched miles, so its not just your miles. You should do atleast half though. The 500 a week is only for those who come in with a CDL already
Everett Thanks this. -
Thanks for clarifying that ORD. I had a CDL student recently but never really learned the payment structure for them.
-
No problem

Thanks ORD..they do look small, are they the 36" cabs or the 48" ??
hmmmm.. I am kinda a big boy 5'10 250lbs sounds like it maybe a tight squeeze.. maybe flatbed may be the better choice after all.
what about tanker, what do they get??? and if I wanted NE region, which type holds a better chance of getting back up here to hell(as you put it
)
*note to anybody reading this, if you are in one of these types of trucks, can you post pics of the interior, I do belive it would help people like me make an informed decision...it would be good to have a folder with different trucks types,with interior/exterior shots... but thats just my thought...Last edited: Oct 1, 2011
