If you want to NOT be haulin' your heiny around the country, it's real easy...
- Whine about every load not paying enough...
- Be late on every load...
- Set your PTAs out a week from when you last delivered so you can...
- Sit at the truckstop and biotch about sittin' at the truckstop...
- Call your FM up repeatedly hollarin' at him about everything...
- Especially why the loads you get don't pay a million bucks...
- And why you aren't gettin' any loads!
However, if you want to make money at Prime its very easy... keep your left door closed, pick-up and deliver on-time, maximize your availability. -
Short version.... ROLL. lol

A well-worn, grizzled old freight dog line check captain I flew with years--okay, decades--ago told me something I've never forgotten. One night, we were scheduled to fly from our normal Point A to Point B with a few stops on the way. We get a call from dispatch adding an extra section. Which then gets cancelled after we've changed the flight plan and fuel load. And, of course, there are thunderstorms, icing in the clouds, and other various meteorological phenomena that want to kill us, just waiting for the chance to do so. Even though they don't kill us, they definitely make us divert around, across, and through - as freight dogs are wont to do - all kinds of stuff. The guy turns to me while I'm sitting' there pi$$ing and moaning, whining and sniveling about the lousy company and how this was just GONNA mess up my whole night and says to me,
"If you're gonna put on the uniform, you might as well do some flying. And you can either let the icing kill you or take a delaying vector. Deal with it or go home."
I never forgot that and it has applied to my own situation more than once after he said it. I think it applies here, too. If you're gonna climb into the cab of a truck, you might as well put some miles on it. And if you have to wait, well, so what? Wait. Let it kill you or deal with it. Or go home.Last edited: Oct 2, 2011

Sitting at the receiver in Fort Worth getting in a much needed 34 hours off. My version of a perfect week is 4000 miles and a restart in 7 days and this one was close. 3906 paid miles plus 4 x $20 for extra stop pay and a $50 hazmat bonus. Actual miles were just over 4000. Yeah, thats close enough. Not much time left over I can tell you that. But thats why they invented restarts. Start with 70 on Monday and do it again.
