I drive a Freightliner with a Detroit 60 series. It has been chugging. The RPMs dive down to about 3500 and shoot up to about 7000 over and over again. It is at the Freightliner shop now. They replaced two sensors. One is to the turbo and the other I believe is part of the air intake system. It did not resolve the problem. They did a computer diagnostic test to determine which sensors to replace. But when they started up back up again, it still had the same problem. They ruled out problems with the injectors, fuel filters and there is not water in the fuel tanks. They have been trying to troubleshoot with the techs from Detroit. But nothing as of yet. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Thank you.

Tow it to the nearest Detroit dealer and stop waisting time/ money w/ Freightliner.
You'd be back on the road by now.

I had the same problem on mine....i took it to Detroit Deisal and they showed me what to next time...it is really a simple fix and all you need is a pipe cleaner...there is a sensor that gets clogged up easy...if you still need help pm me and i will write it all down for you..i have to look to see what the sensor is called.
