Well. If you have an S-corp already then why not just add a DBA? Thats what I did. And you aren't hiding from anything these days lawyer wise. If they want ya. They'll get ya. If you own the land or what not I would advise selling it to your wife and be sure your wife has nothing to do with your business.

this is another possibility , we have another business attached to the INC. its an online retail store my wife operates , no customers come here everything is online .... as for the land my laywer drafted up something that the business rents it from us , he said it would protect us .... lets just put it this way for the past 6 yrs i have manufactured high liability equipment and never had a problem , i will actually feel a heck of alot safer operating a truck , i understand there is still liability and such , but i feel its far less than what i was doing

You are correct. When you lease to a carrier they are responsible for the liability and cargo insurance, but you will need to have bobtail insurance.

If you are leasing to another company, running under your corp is additional complication and expense that is not needed. Plus it will make it that much easier to for someone to pierce your corporation.

It seems that attorneys make a lot of money setting these corporations and they provide no protection if that is all they are being used for.
