The main reason I left Crete was because I was on their Western Regional Fleet and spent 90% of my time in Missouri and Illinois. Was told at least I was in Western Illinois...Spent the Christmas holidays snowed in at the Lincoln Yard eating out of the vending machines and decided that was enough.

 

These are all things every trucking company is doing to stay in business. Obviously to you these are 'moronic' to anyone with any time actually running a business these are sometimes neccessary moves to stay competitive, to be profitable and to be around in 5-10 years to give jobs to truckers. yep moronic.
So if they had not implemented fuel solutions, 62mph trucks, cutting rpms, regional dispatch, computerized load planning, would they be here today? Why not have them buy a fleet of 1982 cabovers, have you all use pay phones to call dispatch. Back to the future? Moronic.

 

It happens when a positive voice for trucking that can make good money at a supposed BAD company is replaced by drivers that can't figure it out.

 

I have been with shaffer for over 2 months now and I have a friend that drives for Heartland I am so glad i did my homework then going with "voted the top paying company"

I am driving roughly the same amount of miles that I was at Roehl, ca. 2800/week when out at 0.05 per mile better pay. If you are not a fool you can do very well at Crete.

Which is about $600 a month the company pays I got eye,dental, accidental an critical injury ins. I pay about $10 a wk I got 401k employer matched up to % 5, got profit sharing I got 2 wk paid vaca an i'am rite on track 2 gett my mileage raise, also I got bout 10,000 in savings u know its what u make it. If u read jdrentzjr thread u c how he works an he ain't making more than I will this yr. When u add in all them bennys oh almost forgot crete's life insurance an the additional life insurance I took out plus I got short disability which I used in 09-10 when I was off with medical an now I have a long term disability insurance package thts about 73 a mon. An a long term care insurance it bout 78 a mon. An all I have 2 do is go get an del. With about 75plus. %drop an hook oh yeah this company is so terrible man I have never had a better job I set my own hrs. Nobody buggz me its great pay. So 2 all those thinkn bout join crete or any company 4 tht matter payno attention 2 big al an his kind they r the perfect drivers @ a crappy company
