That post was a response to another member who replied to my origional post.

I never played the experience card on this forum.

Stop trolling my posts. Your contributions to this thread are no better than mine. Pot calling the kettle black. If you continue to troll my posts and bash me, I will report you.

Your first post wasn't relevant to thread either, it was a defensive driving lecture.

If that's the case, my memory is failing me and I apologize.

If you look back, I was the first person to reply to this thread, and I gave the OP the only reasonable (legal) course of action to take to try to get the bozos off the air.

My first post wasn't a defensive driving lecture. I told the OP not to put himself into a position where he needs to rely on a CB. CB's can be a good tool, but other technology does exist.

Your first post is irrelevant to what I earlier told you. Bashing me doesn't make you a good contributor to the thread at hand. It just shows that you're a jerk who can't handle another opinion that differs from your own. Having one good post in a thread doesn't give you a free ticket to bash someone else.

Almost every Thread I see this kid post in he seems to be getting himself into a squabble with someone. At first I kinda felt sorry for him , but after reading a bunch of threads and seeing some of his posts I find it very difficult not to respond with something negative myself.

Batman8, if I can give you some advice. Which you seem to want too do to almost everyone in this forum. Stop giving advice!!!!! Although some of your replies are good ones. Most are very evident that you are new at this and are trying to be more then what you are. A newbie!!!!!

Let the people here that have the experience and knowledge to answer the questions, answer them.
And the rest of us newbs, well were the ones that ask the questions.

Now please don't take this wrong and go on a tangent like you have on other threads.

    just sayin......

I'm not bashing you-I'm bashing your totally irrelevant, lecturing posts. Longshot was clearly exaggerating to make his point that he wants all of the tools in he can have in his disposal to make his drive a safe one, including his CB. He doesn't need you to tell him how to drive his truck.

I'm not trying to be something I'm not. If I'm wrong, just correct me. Is that too much to ask? Also, since when is a opinion wrong or right?

How is my first post not relevant? Having a clear channel 19 is NOT going to happen. It never has, and it never will. If you're lucky enough to get a few minutes on channel 19, what's to stop another driver from giving you bad directions? That's why I said not to rely on a CB. The only way you're going to get a clear CB is when the FCC starts shutting down channels. The FCC can impose all the regulations they want. Drivers won't follow them. In fact, when you buy a CB if you actually read the box it states to keep conversations to a minimum.

What do you do when you have no one to follow???????? In anything in life, the more knowledge and awareness one has, the better off they are. Despite how some live their lives, ignorance is NOT bliss.

And having a CB isn't going to give you the all clear either. If there are no drivers around, no one is available to talk to you on the CB.

The issue raised by the OP is base stations locking down the channel, not drivers chattering. You're right, there is nothing to keep another driver from giving you bad directions, but just like on here, sometimes you have to make a judgement call on whether advice is good or not. Unless I'm already familiar with the route, I stop and look at my atlas before taking CB directions. The FCC doesn't need to make new regulations to fix this particular problem, they just need to go in and enforce the ones they have and confiscate equipment.
