that is so right....One piece of advise I can give is to make sure when you get issued your truck look it over before they bring it in, and go through it after...drive it around the terminal and make sure it's running good. Any questions you have about the truck make sure you ask the mechanic that is working on it. I'm about out of Evo 3 and I have nothing but good things to say about the company so far.....besides Gary terminal would be safer in Baghdad Iraq

Dunno why everyone keeps saying Gary is bad. I guess it's just perspective and all. As per Wikipedia (and take that for what it's worth which could be nothing, but looks accurate compared to the referenced data)
Gary is 'only' at 6.94 crimes per 100,00. While high is nowhere near Flint which is where I'm at. It's at 20.10 per 100,000. And if Gary is like Flint, simply keep away from the drug dealers and you have more to worry about getting hit by lightning or winning the lotto than ending up a statistic.

Here's the truth about Gary.... It is a typical run down, beaten up, former "big" time steel city. (Still Steel mills here, but not as big as it once was.) When you ride through Gary you will city all the boarded up and abandoned buildings. As far as going out at night, if you are a new driver you won't have the time to go out anyway. Too much work to do in a short period of time. Experienced guys have some work to do as well and maybe have more time, but you don't have a lot of options nearby so what's the difference.
Focus on the job "interview" and don't worry about Gary. Once you get out with a trainer (or your own truck) then worry about site seeing.
Just my two cents...

Well i made it through orientation, it was a lot of information. everyone was real nice and helpful. Now to wait for them to get me paired up with a trainer.

You shouldn't have to wait long if you are in Gary. That is the terminal that gets the most traffic. They should have someone through to pick you up.
