I just got a call from the shop that my truck is at and I'm trying to find the best and least expensive supplier for a OEM Detroit Diesel inframe kit. I live in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. I know I can find the aftermarket kits online without a problem

maybe try a shop that specialises in Detroits (not Detroit themself) here in OZ buying this way saves about 20%, hope this helps

Let me know what you find, as I'm in the process of rebuilding my 14 liter as well. Though doing it my self as I don't like anyone else working on my Volvo. I just started the tear down today.

Company in Indianapolis, Indiana call Young and sons Machine shop.
I drop off my head yesterday and got a quote of $3000 for my 14 liter, though mine is a non EGR engine. That was for Federal Modual and sealed power parts which is name brand.
Now I need to find out how to get the liners out with the pistons still in the liners.
I also seen where that company ships parts all over. -
Try Stewart & Stevenson. They are a detroit dealer of oem parts. I get parts from them at reasonable prices.

also there are several kits available depending on how far into the motor you go. basic is pistons, liners, bearing, and reman head. the bigger packages offer more such as oil pump (highly recommended to replace), water pump, injectors, rocker arms and shafts, and turbo. Make sure and check the rockers and shafts because they will stick and cause piston to slap valves.

What causes the rockers and shafts to stick if cleaned well? I just did a complete inframe but didn't change mine though they seem to be little tight.
