I am centrally located between Dallas, TX and OKC off of I-35, I am needing to get set up on something steady. Right know I have been manly using loadboardS to stay loaded but that is just not working out to well.
I would like some advice on what we should do. We own two truck and mainly haul flatbed freight, I do have a belly dump also though.
So, should we lease? Start calling local companies and see if we can get on, or just stay with the load board system?
HELP!
Advice on how to get on a stead load with a company

What is not working for you with the load boards? Guess I need a little more information on what you are not seeing that you need. You are in a great area for flatbed but everybody has different needs.
A little more information on what you are trying to get - home every night, can't get reloaded, low rates, etc. - would be great. -
i know a few guys leased onto Mercer who live outside OKC and are back n forth to Houston and doing well.

The rate's are staying real low. We had a few good runs the first of the summer and then the rates just drop so low the little company just cant make any money on them. If you look on like get loaded and look at the loads vr. the available trucks, TX is in the red (more trucks then loads) and Ok is in the hard to find category. We just want something steady we can put a driver in, and that I can do to stay closer to my family.

Just did a quick seach on ITS out of your area and of the ones that post rates I found plenty that are paying over $2/mile and several OS that are at $3/mile going into TX. Can't imagine the permits are going to be that much. Now if you find a great local outfit that pays 80% you are going to be hard pressed to beat some of these rates.
Are you only using Getloaded? I didn't have much luck with them. I use ITS, Members Edge (the OOIDA Transcore site) and Landstarbroker. Also, are you trying to find loads while driving or do you have someone that is on the computer during the day looking for loads. When I was doing my own loads and driving I found that I got the best rates the night before or day of getting MT. Now that my wife is doing this for our drivers she is getting same and better rates days out.
PM me contact information and her or I would be happy to help you.
