I think the yard @ Kerney does have showers, the women's is upstairs, mens is downstairs in the bathroom.
-
Anna and Craig I think you are both right, it is just a drop yard, but does have security. I see there is a Walmart 3 miles away, just not sure what we can do to get there. It would be nice to be able to restock!!
NorCenArk I did not see any showers in the bathroom, nor did a see any stairs to go up either. Maybe I am not looking in the right place. -
I shouldn't admit this, but I have been known to drive the truck without anyone logging on. Not very far, just to the store close by where we are shut down, but no one has ever called me on it. The computer goes crazy, but it is legal. We are not required by law to log if we are on our own time, not working.

Anyone hear about the truck fire in Utah a week ago last Friday, Sept. 30th?
For those Cascadia drivers, be aware they have been known to catch themselves on fire. We picked up an Amazon empty tote load in St. George, UT last week. The team that had originally had the load caught fire and a lot of the totes melted. Even after being loaded into the new trailer, the smell was still awful. Delivered them anyway. We were told that all that was left of the truck was the frame and back tires. They said the driver pulled over immediately and got the other guy out of the sleeper, and he didn't even have time to put his shoes on. They said as soon as their feet hit the ground the whole truck went up in flames. We have a lot of stuff with us. I just can't imagine what they must have been feeling, losing their clothes and whatever else they had with them. I may think about not taking so much with us, and start sleeping in my clothes!
Not positive how this fire started, but we have heard that it has been a problem with the new Freightliners, caused by regeneration system (exhaust burning clean air system). The driver said he smelled something burning, might have said electrical, not sure. He said he immediately pulled over and woke his partner up. Saved the guys life. We didn't speak to him directly, but to the driver who gave the empty trailer for the totes to be reloaded into. I downloaded 10 pictures from the St. George newspaper's website. If anyone wants me to email them to you, just message me on this site with your email address and I will get them to you.Attached Files:

Here are more. I figured out how to attach them. My husband also took a few when we picked up the trailer.

Just got home for a brief couple of days. From Irving and the simulator there to take a bus? back to Markum! Managed to get a rental car so went by Springfield terminal to pick up my son and then both to Markum. Finally got our wheels at about 23:30 and had our first night in there. Then the running began..... Effingham to Hazelton to Breinigsville to Hebron to Phoenix to Houston to Sterling, VA. Then towards home.
Musicgal, we also got a trailer with a bad tire and lost about 4 hours dealing with it. Yhe tire was mis-matched with the one beside it and lost all its tread. Breakdown put on two new tires. (The one which was good was an odd size!)Jarhed1964 Thanks this. -
SheepDog and I are on our way the LA California!!! We are well a head of time so we are going to stop in Oaklohma City to have a few things looked at on the tractor. Nothing like a 2600 mile run!!

Yeah, it's now a big parking lot/drop yard for us and other companies.
Well, my house is almost cleaned and put back together the way I like. I've had someone else living here for the past year and they didn't clean the way I like, plus they put some of my stuff away to make room for their stuff!!!!!....my hope is that once I get it cleaned then my son can keep it up while I'm gone.
I've been working on the truck this morning and it's nice and clean on the inside and gradually getting put back together...the outside is waiting in hopes of it warming up a little....LOLLast edited: Oct 10, 2011
