Youre right bro, but for the time ive put in with other companies, ive seen and been taught really well in the way operations should handle the fleet. Its called RESPECT. thats it, RESPECT. not ##### kissing, not brown nosing, not commanding, not feuding, not competing.......RESPECT.

Great in theory, but in the real world most people are out for themselves and will cut there own mother's throat(figuratively speaking) if they thought it would give them a leg up.

I talked to one guy from knight at a shipper haha it was a 250 to 300miles on load and he had 2 hours to get there, and sent him a message saying load can't be late with exclamations...
It could be a tall-tale, but the frustration and stress in his eyes looked pretty sincereErick chapel Thanks this. -
Not unusual for the big red ret@rd at all. The CSR's are lazy about booking the freight and the planners are lazy about giving it out. So a lot of the time by the time the info gets to the driver(who's been setting long enough he could have probably picked up the freight on time) he's already late.Erick chapel Thanks this.

That's typical with a lot of these co's. It's the sit all day then run like heck to save our butt.
What I tell them when they pull that crap, is the following......
Lack of planning on your part doesn't constitute an emergency on my part.Nunu62, Erick chapel and ApollyonGabriel Thank this. -

I quit because they wouldn't replace my dead battery. No, I didn't make it go dead. It was dead when I got on that Phoenix truck at the Seattle terminal that the Portland shop wouldn't fix till next week.
Anyway, am no longer trucking these days. I run specialized freight in the back of a pick up truck around the west coast out of Portland for about 7 grand a haul.
Just couldn't picture going back to the circus again. Besides, my med card expired months ago. Am thinking of taking the CDL off my license. -
Knight really isn't any different than the rest of the mega carriers. No respect for the drivers who are expected to cover the office staffs screw UPS and laziness.
I just left knight this last Friday and I have a lot I could say both good and bad. The trick with a company like knight is to use them for what you need and move on.
Personally, I was a new cdl driver when I went to work for knight. I used them to get the experience I needed so better companies would hire me. That's it, nothing more.
In my opinion if your an experienced driver and have a decent mvr and dac then working for a company like knight, swift, werner, crst, and such is just foolish.
