Was in Victoria 2005 and looked into emigration, seemed like if you had a recognized trade or professional degree then no problem. Think Australia was trying to grow its economy and its population as well. Don't think truck driving is one of the recognized skills for emigration but would be worthwhile checking out. Also don't know if the global economy has affected their immigration laws.
Highly recommend anyone visit if they get the chance.
