I originally planned to stay out on the road for years, but before that I would stay for at east 6 months to see if I can handle it, I mean I'm not married so no real good reason to go home.
Are there a lot of people who stay out for 6 months? Even a year or couple of years? Or stay out on the road their whole life, as if they got no home/house?
Is it rare to stay out for so long?

Well I told my dispatcher about staying out for 6 months and he seems pretty happy about it, it's like this: I was in the office and tell him that and the other dispatcher sitting across from him started laughing as soon as I said I was going to stay out for 6 months, and my dispatcher was like:"What are you laughing at?"
I wonder what it all means -
Are you pulling our leg with this?

No, this is real, I'm planning on staying 6 months for now, I mean recently I switch my old truck in for a newer one, and it's got an APU on it so it will make life a lot easier, you see, all I need is a computer and video games and I'm good to go, I'm kinda like a video game addict.

A kid I worked with in the oil fields had no home and lived in his truck. so yes its possible but in my opinion it would get old staying out that long. 3 weeks or so and I was ready for a break 6 weeks and I was ready to kill.
