I stay out 6-8 weeks at a time, my wife can drive but only navigates and makes phone calls, etc. We have teamed before, it blows as you dont get real sleep ever. The longer you stay out, the crazier you will become. Your brain needs a break from the truck and all the commotion. We sometimes take the time off in a motel somewhere we want to be. There are several motels out there with truck parking and I would suggest using one now and then. Theres a website called www.hotels4truckers.com not all are listed but most. Take it from me and take a break from the truck every now and then.

 

Well, this might sound stupid and obvious, but you can't change if you give up on the prospect of being able to change from the get-go.

Video games have been found to increase reaction times, and speed up thinking in general as well as problem solving. Im guessing none of you guys have used a sniper rifle to nail someone right in the grape from across the world. NOTE Im not talking about you soldiers, I would be willing to say is to get plenty of sleep as trucking pays for those games. Many of us know how fast 5 to 6 hours can go

Longest we ever stayed out was a little over 4 months. As much as I love trucking it was always healthy to take some time off after awhile. Even just a few days really refreshes you. No matter what, if you are in that truck you are working. At the very least you are responsible for it and not to mention the qualcomm will never stop going off.
